GPL 2024/25: Nations FC beat Accra Lions to go top

Nations FC climbed to the top of the Ghana Premier League. They achieved this with a narrow 1-0 win over Accra Lions at Abrankese Stadium.

The first half was tense and closely contested. The relegation-threatened Lions managed to hold off Nations FC.

In the 63rd minute, Sadiq Alhassan scored a great goal. This goal turned out to be the match-winner.

Nations FC has now won six of their last seven matches. They sit at the top of the table with 54 points.

This defeat is a significant setback for Accra Lions. They are currently in 16th place with 32 points.
