GPL: Albert Amoah hat-trick gives Kotoko win over Medeama to stay in title race

Albert Amoah scored a hat-trick for Kumasi Asante Kotoko. The team won 3-2 against Medeama SC. This match took place at Baba Yara Stadium. It was part of the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League season.

Amoah scored his first goal in the 20th minute from a penalty. He added another goal in the 35th minute. His third goal came in the 79th minute with a powerful header. This header followed a free kick from Emmanuel Antwi.

The victory extends interim coach Abdul Karim Zito’s unbeaten run to six games. This includes a win over Berekum Chelsea in the MTN FA Cup semifinals. Beating Medeama keeps Kotoko in contention for the title.

League leaders Nations FC abandoned their game against Basake Holy Stars. They did this after disputing a penalty incident in the first half.

Kotoko currently ranks third with 60 points. They trail second-ranked Bibiani Gold Stars on goal difference. Gold Stars recently won 3-2 against Berekum Chelsea.
