GPL: Nations FC cite inadequate security and poor officiating as reasons for abandoning game

Nations Football Club has released a statement about their recent match. They abandoned their Ghana Premier League (GPL) game against Basake Holy Stars. The match took place in Ayinase during Round 33.

Nations FC left the game in the first half. They were unhappy with a penalty call. The team was trailing 1-0 after conceding a penalty in the 32nd minute. Tensions rose when a second penalty was called against them shortly after.

In their statement, Nations FC cited security and officiating concerns. They described the officiating as "extremely poor." This, they said, compromised the fairness of the match. It raised serious questions about the integrity of the competition.

Nations FC was leading the league standings by three points. They needed to win one of their last two games to secure their first league title. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will rule on this case soon.
