Kumasi Asante Kotoko's Communications Director, Samuel Sarfo Duku, criticized referee Robert Musey. Musey officiated Kotoko’s match against Bibiani Gold Stars at Dun’s Park.
The game ended in a goalless draw. Gold Stars ranked second, while Kotoko was fourth. Many Kotoko fans expressed their anger over the officiating.
Duku shared his disappointment after the match. He said, “I was disappointed with how our boys were frustrated.” He felt they deserved three points for their performance.
Duku noted that Kotoko dominated and created chances. However, he believed strange referee decisions cut short their dangerous moves.
Kotoko now trails league leaders Nations FC by five points after this draw. Despite the result, they moved up to third place in the league standings.
Kotoko will face Medeama and Vision FC on June 1 and 8 to finish the season.
