Gerald Asamoah doubts Africa's World Cup chances

Gerald Asamoah, a former Germany international, doubts an African nation will win the FIFA World Cup.

Asamoah, who has Ghanaian roots, sees challenges for African teams in global football.

Morocco is the only African team to reach the semi-finals. They achieved this at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Other nations like Ghana and Senegal have reached the quarter-finals but did not win.

Asamoah said, "I want to see this before I leave the earth, but it is not going to be easy."

He believes teamwork is crucial and notes that African teams often face internal issues.

The next World Cup will take place in 2026 across the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Qualifiers are still ongoing.

Ghana's Black Stars currently lead Group I with 15 points. They will play Chad and Mali in September's qualifiers.
