Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku is a strong contender for a CAF vice-presidency seat amid increasing pressure on President Patrice Motsepe to boost Anglophone representation in African football leadership.
This comes after Anglophone federations were excluded from the recent FIFA Council elections, prompting calls for better balance within CAF’s executive structure.
Okraku, recognized for his leadership in Ghanaian football and his connections within CAF, is seen as a prime candidate for the role.
His potential promotion follows the resignation of CAF First Vice-President Augustin Senghor, creating an opportunity for Motsepe to reshape his leadership team. Other contenders for the vice-presidency include Liberia’s Mustapha Raji and Ethiopia’s Isayas Jira Bosho.
The upcoming days will be critical in shaping the future of African football leadership.
