Techiman Eleven Wonders CEO Stephen Puro believes the club's development plan will set a standard in Ghana football. He aims to influence clubs like Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko within five years.
Puro made these comments after Eleven Wonders' 2-1 win over Real Tamale United. This victory in the Division One promotion playoff secured their return to the Ghana Premier League.
The club had faced relegation in the 2021/22 season. They also missed their first attempt to return but finally achieved top-flight status with a late penalty.
In an interview with Joy Sports, Puro stressed that their focus goes beyond just promotion. Eleven Wonders is working on a sustainable football project that can serve as a model for other clubs.
“The new Techiman Eleven Wonders is a project we are undertaking,” he said. “We are not just focusing on qualifying; we want to execute something bigger.”
He added, “In five years, we hope to have something others can learn from.” He believes even major clubs like Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will benefit from their approach.
Puro acknowledged that they have much to learn from these giants. However, he is confident that their initiatives will positively impact Ghana football and provide valuable lessons for many clubs.
