Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele has expressed concerns about the declining state of football in the country.
His remarks follow the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), finishing last in Group F with just three points and no wins.
Pele, a three-time African Footballer of the Year and 1982 AFCON winner, emphasized the stark contrast between Ghana's past football successes and the current struggles. He urged stakeholders to focus on rebuilding and improving the state of football.
“Time changes everything,” Pele said, encouraging a forward-looking approach. He stressed the importance of hard work, organization, and unity to achieve success. He also highlighted football’s role in fostering national cohesion and called for collective effort to restore Ghana’s football legacy.
