Ghana’s Minister of Sports, Kofi Adams, has called for immediate reforms following the country's failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Black Stars’ disappointing campaign, in which they failed to win any of their six qualifying matches, follows consecutive group-stage exits in the last two AFCON tournaments.

Ghana also struggled at the 2024 Olympic Games, unable to field any boxers for the first time in years.

At the JoySports National Sports Dialogue, Adams emphasized the need for a major overhaul of Ghana's sporting framework, stating that the country's recent failures are a sign that the development system requires urgent attention to restore competitiveness.
