Ghana’s sporting sector is in crisis, according to Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

He emphasized the urgent need for reforms while expressing confidence in newly appointed Sports Minister Kofi Adams’ ability to address the challenges.

Adams, 49, was vetted by the Appointments Committee and is set to be sworn in by President John Mahama. Ghana’s football struggles were highlighted by the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, finishing last in their group.

Additionally, a fan's tragic death at a league match led to the temporary suspension of the Ghana Premier League.

In Parliament, Kwakye Ofosu called for swift action, believing Adams’ leadership could drive infrastructure development, league restructuring, and a revival of national team performance.
