Ghanaian defender Thomas Boakye parts ways with Halmstads BK

Thomas Boakye's six-year stint at Halmstads BK has ended, with the Swedish club confirming they will not renew his contract.

The 31-year-old defender, who joined the club in 2018, struggled with injuries and illness in the 2024 Allsvenskan season, making only five appearances.

Coach Johan Lindholm acknowledged Boakye's contributions but noted that it was best for him to seek regular playing time elsewhere.

Boakye made 168 appearances for Halmstads and previously played for Östersunds FK. His market value is currently 200,000 euros.
