Government renames UHAS after late Prof Mills

The government has renamed the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho. It is now called the Professor John Evans Atta Mills University of Health and Allied Sciences.

Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu made the announcement on May 28, 2025. This occurred during the inauguration of the university’s new Governing Council at the Ministry of Education.

The renaming connects the institution to the late President Mills. His vision for healthcare and education was crucial for UHAS’ establishment.

“This is not merely a name change,” said Haruna Iddrisu. “It shows our gratitude to a man who dedicated himself to education and health.”
