Guardiola challenges 'street fighter' Grealish

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has challenged Jack Grealish to prove him wrong after being eased out of the starting lineup.

Despite his £100m price tag and key role in City’s 2022-23 Treble-winning season, Grealish has struggled for regular game time due to the emergence of Savinho and competition from Oscar Bobb, Omar Marmoush, and Jeremy Doku.

Guardiola praised Grealish's "street fighter" mentality and his determination to fight for his place, especially after an impressive FA Cup performance against Leyton Orient.

However, he may return to the bench for City's Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

Guardiola emphasized that competition, not contracts, drives improvement. Meanwhile, City hopes £50m midfielder Nico Gonzalez will recover in time for the match after suffering a strong kick in the FA Cup tie.
