Reliable Water, Every Drop Empowers Her was the headline for the HOPSA 2001 Year Group Project Launch. This event took place at the Chandelier on April 26, 2025.
The dynamic class of HOPSA 2001, known as the Sapphires, organized this launch. They will also host next year’s 80th Speech and Prize-Giving Day at Holy Child School. This event marks 25 years since they graduated.
The project aims to provide a sustainable water solution for over 3,000 students and staff. It will increase the school’s daily water capacity by an impressive 20,000 gallons. The launch showcased excellence and resilience, focusing on sustainable water solutions. Dignitaries present included Prof. Kofi Abotsi, Justice Olivia Obeng Owusu, and Ibrahim Mahama.
In her opening address, President Anita Nadia Attah highlighted their alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6. She stated that this project addresses chronic water shortages affecting daily operations. It aims to improve student lives and enhance school infrastructure.
Chairperson Professor Kofi Abotsi emphasized that water shortages affect many Cape Coast schools. He noted that sanitation is especially crucial for girls' schools. He encouraged everyone to participate in this important project.

Celebrated businessman Ibrahim Mahama pledged full support for the project during his speech. He stressed the importance of maintenance for sustainability and offered his team’s help in implementation.
The Sapphires are committed to collaborating with all stakeholders while seeking more patrons and benefactors. This initiative will significantly impact the school's future while reflecting Holy Child School's values of sustainability and community leadership.
Following this launch, a call has been made to alumni, parents, friends of Holy Child School, HOPSANs, and Corporate Ghana to support next year’s anniversary celebration.
