Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will consult a specialist after sustaining an ankle injury during Sunday’s FA Cup victory over Bournemouth.
Despite concerns, the club expects him to feature again this season, including in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
Haaland, who scored City’s equalizer in the 2-1 win, was substituted in the 61st minute and later seen leaving the stadium on crutches with his left ankle in a protective boot.
Tests conducted on Monday have led to a specialist referral to determine the full extent of the injury.
With 30 goals in 40 appearances this season, Haaland remains a key figure for City, who are now focused on the FA Cup— their last shot at silverware following setbacks in the Premier League, Champions League, and Carabao Cup.
Manager Pep Guardiola has faced injuries to crucial players throughout the campaign, with City currently sitting fifth in the league, one point behind Chelsea in the race for Champions League qualification.
