Arsenal star Declan Rice praised teammate Thomas Partey. He highlighted Partey's influence and composure in midfield.

Ahead of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain, Rice spoke about Partey. The Gunners need to overcome a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Paris.

“Thomas brings calmness to the team,” Rice said. “He doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves. I’m lucky to have him beside me. He allows me the freedom to move around.”

Partey missed the first leg due to suspension. Arsenal felt his absence as PSG scored early through Ousmane Dembélé.

The 31-year-old joined from Atlético Madrid in 2020. He is expected to return for the second leg, which is crucial for Arsenal's hopes of reaching their first Champions League final since 2006.

Talks are ongoing between the club and Partey’s representatives about a contract extension, as his current deal is nearing its end.
