Aziz Haruna Futa, the National Nasara Coordinator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, questioning his abilities after the team's poor performance in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Futa expressed doubts about Addo's capability to lead the team, citing the failure to secure a win in the AFCON qualifiers.
He revealed that the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, had also advised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) against appointing Addo, fearing he wouldn't qualify the team for the 2026 World Cup.
The Black Stars, under Addo's leadership, have faced heavy criticism, with some calling for his resignation. The team will play again in March 2025 in World Cup qualifiers.
