Wojciech Szczesny had a challenging start at Barcelona but has now secured his place as the team's starting goalkeeper under Hansi Flick.
The Polish veteran joined in September 2025 after Marc-Andre ter Stegen's season-ending injury, coming out of retirement for the opportunity.
Initially not expecting to play, Szczesny has since featured in nearly all of Barcelona’s matches this year.
Reflecting on football in Spain compared to Italy, where he spent nine years, he noted that Spanish football is more attacking and technically advanced, while Italy prioritizes tactical discipline.
He also praised Barcelona’s 17-year-old talent, Lamine Yamal, calling him the greatest technical talent he has ever seen.
Szczesny enjoys playing alongside the younger squad members and appreciates the energy they bring to the team.
