Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed deep frustration following his side’s narrow 1-0 loss to Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A brilliant long-range strike from Raphael Amponsah sealed victory for the Phobians, handing Medeama their second league defeat to Hearts this season.
Speaking post-match, Tanko described the result as “very painful,” insisting his team performed well and created more chances. “We conceded a goal we normally don’t. They had just that one shot, and it went in,” he said.
Despite a strong response after conceding, Medeama couldn’t find the equalizer. The defeat pushes the defending champions down to seventh on the league table, two points off the top four.
With three losses in five games, Tanko now faces pressure to bounce back.
