Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare shares Black Stars bonus with teammates

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has earned widespread praise after generously sharing nearly half of his GH¢170,000 bonus from Black Stars duty with his club teammates — including players from the women’s team.

Asare, who made his debut for Ghana in March 2024, impressed with clean sheets against Chad and Madagascar in the World Cup qualifiers, securing the confidence of head coach Otto Addo.

However, his recent exclusion from Hearts of Oak’s matchday squad for two consecutive games has raised questions about his club future.
