The Miami Heat have suspended star guard Jimmy Butler for seven games due to "multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team."
Following a loss to the Indiana Pacers, Butler expressed frustration, stating he had lost his joy playing for Miami and was no longer fully committed to the team. "Jimmy Butler and his representative have indicated that they wish to be traded," the Heat said, confirming they would listen to offers.
Butler, who took only five shots in a recent game against the Pelicans, was also reportedly upset by implications from team officials that he hadn’t played his hardest. The suspension will cost him $2.35 million, and the NBPA plans to file a grievance, calling the suspension "excessive."
