Napoli secured a 2-1 win away at Genoa, handing coach Patrick Vieira his first defeat.
Despite missing Alessandro Buongiorno, Napoli saw Khvicha Kvaratskhelia return to the bench.
Genoa, unbeaten under Vieira, started strong, but Romelu Lukaku’s early header hit the crossbar.
Napoli took the lead through André Frank Zambo Anguissa’s header (15') and doubled it with Amir Rrahmani’s header (23'). Genoa responded in the second half with Andrea Pinamonti’s goal (51').
Despite pressure from Genoa, including a near equalizer from Mario Balotelli and multiple saves by Napoli keeper Alex Meret, Napoli held on.
Kvaratskhelia's late play and a crucial interception from Johan Vasquez helped secure the win for the visitors.
