Hohoe United plan switch to grass pitch ahead of Ghana Premier League debut

Hohoe United's CEO, Edem Ansah, announced a switch to natural grass.

Currently, the club plays on artificial turf at their home ground. This setup has sparked debate due to their unbeaten home run last season.

Hohoe United qualified from Zone Three of the Access Bank Division One League. They secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the first time.

In an interview with Citi Sports, Ansah acknowledged criticism about the turf. He confirmed plans are underway to install a grass pitch before the new season starts.

“Plans are far advanced,” he said. “I believe the grass field will be ready before the season begins.”

He emphasized that teams must prepare for both surfaces. “You will play some matches on astro and some on grass,” he noted.

Hohoe United will be the first club from Volta Region in the Ghana Premier League since 2010.
