Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has dismissed speculation about Victor Boniface’s potential move to Al-Nassr, reaffirming that the Nigerian striker is an important part of his squad.

Boniface was absent from Leverkusen’s 2-0 win over Sparta Prague in the Champions League, which secured their spot in the last 16.

Alonso confirmed Boniface will train and remain with the team, stating he is comfortable and not under stress.

Despite missing 12 matches due to a hamstring injury, Boniface has scored eight goals in 15 appearances this season, including six goals in European competitions.

With Alonso’s commitment to keeping him, Al-Nassr has turned its focus to Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.
