Arsenal Women have staged an impressive turnaround under interim manager Renee Slegers, following a rocky start to the season that saw them written off in the Women's Super League and Champions League.
After Jonas Eidevall’s resignation in October, Slegers steadied the team, guiding them to six wins from seven matches, including back-to-back league victories and European qualification with two games to spare.
Slegers credits the foundation built under Eidevall, while players like Beth Mead and Emily Fox praise her leadership for bringing confidence and clarity. Arsenal now look reinvigorated, with Anita Asante noting the squad is "firing on all cylinders."
Though Slegers’ future remains uncertain, her success has strengthened calls for her permanent appointment. Arsenal, now in the Champions League quarter-finals, are finally meeting expectations.
