Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has denied claims he is "hiding" the Black Stars' budget. This budget is for March's World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
During February’s State of the Nation Address, President Mahama addressed government spending. He indicated an end to the “secrecy” surrounding national teams' budgets. The President also instructed the Sports Ministry to hold the FA accountable for these matches.
It has been 22 days since the games were played. However, there has been no public announcement from the Ministry. Kofi told Channel One News, "You will know it when the time comes."
He added, "I will make it public. Has the National Team ceased playing?" Ghana's next assignment is in September with matches scheduled.
Kofi emphasized that making a draft budget public would be unfair. He stated, "I’m not hiding it." In September, Ghana will face Chad and Mali in the next round of World Cup qualifiers.
Otto Addo's team currently leads Group I with 15 points. They are three points ahead of second-placed Comoros.
