Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito is focused on team performance. He is not worried about talks of a permanent position.
Zito took over as interim coach after Prosper Narteh Ogum left. Since then, he has led Kotoko to the FA Cup final. The team currently sits 4th in the Premier League with 54 points and remains unbeaten.
After their 4-1 win over Dreams FC, Zito spoke to the press. He said he never expected to join Kotoko at all. His initial call was for a technical director role, not coaching.
Zito explained that he stepped in when his predecessor left. He wants to focus on winning trophies and improving the team's performance.
“I prefer winning a double,” he stated. “For now, let me work and finish the season.”
Asante Kotoko aims to maintain their title push this Sunday. They will play Bibiani GoldStars in Matchday 31 at DUN's Park.
