Former Ghana women's national football team head coach, Nora Hauptle, has explained why she chose not to renew her contract after it expired in December 2024.
Hauptle, who successfully guided the Black Queens to qualify for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, cited challenges during contract negotiations with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
She noted that certain critical aspects of the contract were unclear, which impacted her decision, as she couldn't compromise on those terms.
Despite this, she emphasized that her departure was amicable and respectful. Hauptle has since taken on the role of head coach for Zambia’s national team, the Copper Queens, ahead of the 2024 WAFCON.
