Ghanaian rapper Amerado has shared his feelings about being an artist. He said he doesn’t truly enjoy it. He entered the music industry to survive, not out of passion.
In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, Amerado discussed his struggles. He admitted, “The main reason I got into music was to survive—I just wanted to eat.” Most of the time, he does not enjoy being an artist.
Amerado pointed out many restrictions that come with the profession. One major challenge is the pressure to give money to fans in public. This is especially true when he is stuck in traffic.
“I feel restricted,” he explained. “Whenever you’re in public, especially in traffic, you’re expected to hand out money to fans.”
Despite these drawbacks, Amerado enjoys performing on stage. It allows him to connect with fans and feel the impact of his work. However, he noted that maintaining this lifestyle is not easy.
When asked about other career options, Amerado mentioned football. He would have pursued a career in that sport if not for music.
