I don’t think national team management should receive per diems - Kofi Adams

Sports and Recreation Minister-designate Kofi Adams has criticized the unfair practice of national team management committees receiving per diem allowances while players, especially women and junior male teams, face delays in their payments.

This long-standing issue in Ghana undermines player motivation and performance, according to critics.

Adams emphasized on Kasapa FM that management officials should prioritize players' welfare over their own, describing the current arrangement as unjust and harmful to team morale. He stressed, “Serve the people we are there for before serving ourselves.”

Adams’ remarks highlight growing concerns about sports administration in Ghana, with increasing calls for reforms to ensure equitable treatment of athletes, particularly those representing the country on international platforms.
