Kwame Asare Obeng, the MP for Gomoa Central, has made his stance clear. He is not interested in any political appointment from the governing party. His main focus is on developing his constituency.
In an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, he stated, “I don’t like any appointment. My focus is solely on Gomoa Central.” He emphasized that he does not want distractions from his work for the people.
A Plus recalled a conversation with President John Mahama. He told the President that he did not want to be a minister. “It’s not for you to tell Mahama or anyone else to give you an appointment,” he said.
He added, “I am here to serve my people in Gomoa Central.” A Plus expressed his desire to concentrate on his role as an MP.
Reflecting on his upbringing in Asebu, A Plus shared valuable insights. He and his siblings experienced both struggle and comfort growing up. This background helps him understand the challenges faced by those less fortunate.
“Growing up at Asebu, we saw a lot,” he explained. “Even those of us who had something felt the hardships.” He understands how those without resources must feel.
As the MP for Gomoa Central, A Plus is committed to making a difference. “As your brother, now an MP, I want to change lives,” he said. He aims to alleviate suffering among struggling residents.
“I will do whatever I can to help those in need,” he pledged. He wants everyone in his constituency to have what they need during his time in office.
He concluded by reaffirming his dedication: “All my focus is on Gomoa Central. No distractions, no appointments.” His work is solely for the people of Gomoa Central.
