Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has expressed dissatisfaction with the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) decision to retain Otto Addo as Black Stars head coach.
Addo has faced intense criticism following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, finishing last in Group F with three points.
Despite calls for his dismissal, the GFA has opted to keep him while reshuffling the technical team.
Adams stated that the explanations given so far have been unsatisfactory and that he will seek further clarification.
To strengthen the team ahead of World Cup qualifiers, the GFA has appointed German coach Winfried Schäfer as technical advisor.
Other new additions include Desmond Ofei, while John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda retain their roles as second assistant coach and goalkeepers' trainer, respectively.
