I’ll lead boys to vote against NDC if we don’t scrap betting tax – Malik Basintale

Malik Basintale, the Deputy Communications Officer of the NDC, has vowed to campaign against his party in the 2028 elections if it fails to cancel the 10% betting tax.

The tax, introduced by the Ghana Revenue Authority in August 2023, applies to all gaming winnings and has angered many young people.

The NDC included the promise to abolish the tax in its 2024 manifesto, and youth are eager for its removal under the upcoming John Mahama administration, set to take office in 2025.

Basintale stated that if the tax isn't scrapped within four years, he will personally lead a movement to vote against the NDC, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling the party's commitments.
