I’m no longer a politician’ – Asamoah Gyan denounces NPP to focus on humanitarian work

Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars, has publicly renounced his affiliation with the New Patriotic Party in order to dedicate himself to humanitarian efforts.

In a statement shared on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Ghana's all-time leading goal scorer expressed that his association with a political party has not served the best interests of the nation's youth.

He has decided to withdraw from active political involvement to concentrate on empowering Ghana's youth through initiatives led by the Asamoah Gyan Foundation.
