Kofi Adams, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, expressed concerns about the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) decision to retain Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars after their failure to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite poor performance during the AFCON qualifiers, where the team failed to win a game, the GFA kept Addo and improved the backroom staff ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Adams acknowledged the GFA's justification but remained unconvinced. He noted that given the proximity to World Cup qualifiers, removing Addo would create a leadership vacuum, complicating preparations.
Adams emphasized supporting the current technical team and hinted that the situation could be reviewed in the future.
