Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has apologized to Ghanaians after the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The team ended the qualifying campaign at the bottom of Group F, with three losses and three draws, marking their first AFCON absence in 20 years.
Asante Twum expressed regret over the team's disappointing performance, stating that he has never witnessed such a poor result in his two decades of following the Black Stars.
The 2-1 defeat to Niger in the final round further intensified the disappointment. With AFCON qualification now out of reach, Ghana will focus on the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
