Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has not seen any dubious tactics since he took office. The Sports Ministry has a history of being viewed as a place for covert schemes. Reports have suggested that some individuals undermine ministers and key stakeholders in sports.
However, Adams insists his time in office has been free of such issues. In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face, he stated he has not experienced sabotage or misconduct directed at him.
“I have heard that, but I haven’t seen it since coming here,” he said. “It’s been normal business for me.” He believes everyone has their own style and reactions depend on actions taken.
Adams acknowledged that his approach may differ from past ministers. He noted that this difference might explain the lack of negative reactions he has faced. “I wouldn’t say it’s mafia, but I heard they say it’s mafia,” he added.
He also mentioned warnings about potential setups involving money. However, Adams claims he hasn’t encountered these situations personally. He explained that as Minister, he does not handle funds directly.
“As a minister, your duty is not to handle money,” he emphasized. “You are not the lead spender of the funds.” This makes it hard for anyone to implicate him in financial misconduct.
