Dutch defender Jeremie Frimpong, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen, revealed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) reached out to him about representing the country.
Despite considering the opportunity, Frimpong chose to play for the Netherlands, where he has made 10 appearances. He explained his decision, saying, “I considered playing for Ghana and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) did make contact with me, but Holland were always the first one to come and they were the country that believed in me.”
Frimpong, of Ghanaian heritage, opted for the Dutch national team due to their long-standing belief in his abilities. He is currently in Ghana for the Christmas holidays.
