Daniel Sosah, a Ghana-born forward for Niger, expressed excitement after his adopted country defeated his birth nation, Ghana, 2-1 in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Sosah, born to a Beninese father and a Ghanaian mother, started his career in Niger and later naturalized.
The victory, which occurred at the Accra Sports Stadium in November 2024, was historic as it marked Niger's first-ever win against Ghana on their home soil, ending Ghana's 16-year unbeaten streak there.
Sosah, a key player for Niger, was thrilled with the result and shared that facing Ghana had always been a dream for him. Despite the win, neither Ghana nor Niger qualified for the Morocco AFCON.
