Senior CAF Media Officer Ibrahim Saanie Daara has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to reconsider its charges against Elmina Sharks owner, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, following a violent incident at Nduom Sports Stadium.
The controversy arose after a penalty decision led to an attack on the referee, with Dr. Nduom criticizing the officiating on social media.
The GFA charged him with breaching league regulations and inciting violence. However, Daara highlighted Dr. Nduom’s contributions to Ghanaian football and called for diplomacy, warning that harsh actions could deter investors.
He noted that Dr. Nduom had tried to calm the crowd and stressed the need for patience. Dr. Nduom has until February 19, 2025, to respond to the charges.
