Atalanta manager Gianpiero Gasperini praised Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana. He called Sulemana’s scoring rate “terrific.” This comes after Sulemana scored his second goal in two games.
Sulemana netted a goal in the 47th minute during Atalanta's 3-2 comeback win over Genoa. He controlled the ball on his chest and struck it into the bottom right corner. This goal was similar to his previous stunning strike against AS Roma.
Sulemana, who turns 22 on May 22, has now scored twice for Atalanta. He started in the win against Genoa, and Gasperini praised him highly. The coach jokingly noted he should have played Sulemana more minutes.
“Well, let me reiterate,” Gasperini said. “His coach clearly didn’t have a clue for a whole year.” He added that Sulemana’s scoring rate is even better than Mateo Retegui’s.
Atalanta will finish their season with a home game against Parma on May 25.
