Ibrahim Sulemana clears visa hurdle, joins Black Stars camp in London

Atalanta midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has joined the Black Stars camp in London. He arrived ahead of Ghana's third-place playoff against Trinidad & Tobago. His arrival was delayed due to visa complications.

The 22-year-old was expected to report earlier this week. However, he was held back in Italy because of travel clearance issues. Now, those issues are resolved, and Sulemana joined the squad on Thursday evening.

Sulemana had a strong finish to the season with Atalanta in Serie A. He scored two goals in limited appearances and impressed with his energy and tactical discipline. The Sunyani-born player is seen as a valuable asset for the Black Stars.

Head coach Otto Addo is focusing on youth and dynamism in midfield. The Black Stars are currently in London for the Unity Cup. This tournament helps prepare for upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and international friendlies.

Sulemana’s arrival strengthens Ghana’s midfield depth before their final fixture on Saturday, May 31. Coach Otto Addo plans to test several new players against Trinidad and Tobago's Soca Warriors.
