Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is considering a return to international duty with Belgium following the dismissal of former manager Domenico Tedesco.
Courtois had refused call-ups due to a fallout with Tedesco, but with Rudi Garcia now in charge, he appears open to rejoining the squad.
After Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Brest, Courtois confirmed he had a brief phone call with Garcia and expects a meeting in Madrid soon.
He reiterated his desire to play in the 2026 World Cup, stating that his past issues were strictly with the former coach, not his teammates.
Garcia has also expressed interest in bringing Courtois back, emphasizing that the goalkeeper will have the opportunity to share his perspective.
Courtois, who has 102 caps for Belgium, has been absent from the national team since 2023 due to reported tensions over Tedesco’s handling of the captaincy.
