Inter Allies FC have finally confirmed that their own players were involved in the infamous match-fixing scandal during the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
The club’s Technical Director, Willie Klutse, speaking on Prime Take, disclosed that the players confessed to betting on their final match against AshantiGold SC—an action that led to the club’s demotion to Division Two by the Ghana FA.
Klutse revealed that both players and the team manager were complicit, prompting management to sack the entire playing body. Despite submitting evidence and reporting the matter to the police and GFA, the club claims it was unfairly punished. He criticized the GFA’s stance, likening it to blaming parents for a child’s crime even when the parents reported it.
According to Klutse, players prioritized betting profits over survival bonuses promised by the club, ultimately dooming their campaign. He insists the GFA misjudged the matter by ignoring the club’s cooperation and evidence.
