Inter beat Atalanta to extend Serie A lead

After Napoli’s goalless draw with Venezia, Inter capitalized on the opportunity to pull ahead in the title race.

Carlos Augusto opened the scoring early in the second half, heading in Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s corner.

Atalanta struggled to respond and suffered a setback in the 81st minute when Ederson was sent off for dissent.

Inter quickly took advantage, with Lautaro Martínez sealing the win with a powerful strike.

The match saw further drama as Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini was sent off for dissent, followed by Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni receiving a red card in stoppage time. Atalanta remain third but now trail Inter by six points.
