Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi acknowledged that the ball was out of play before his team’s opening goal in their 2-1 win over Fiorentina but defended the lack of VAR intervention.
He admitted Fiorentina had a right to be upset, comparing it to a similar incident Inter faced in Leverkusen.
Inzaghi also criticized the penalty awarded to Fiorentina for Matteo Darmian’s handball, arguing it should never have been given as the ball was too close to him.
He pointed out that VAR did not intervene in a previous derby, which he felt Inter should have won.
While he sympathized with Monza coach Raffaele Palladino’s frustration, he emphasized that VAR cannot intervene in corner kick decisions, highlighting inconsistencies in refereeing decisions.
