Inter Milan and manager Simone Inzaghi have parted ways. This decision was made "by mutual agreement." It comes just three days after a heavy loss to Paris St-Germain in the Champions League final.
Inzaghi, 49, joined Inter in 2021. He is now linked with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
"I must say goodbye to this club after four years," Inzaghi said. He won six trophies during his time at Inter.
He expressed gratitude to the fans who supported him through ups and downs. "I will never forget you," he added.
The announcement followed a meeting between Inzaghi and Inter officials on Tuesday. An official statement confirmed their separation by mutual agreement.
Inter president Giuseppe Marotta thanked Inzaghi for his work and passion. He appreciated the honest discussions that led to this decision.
During his tenure, Inzaghi won one Serie A title, two Coppa Italias, and three Supercoppa Italias. He guided Inter to two Champions League finals but lost both matches.
They were defeated 1-0 by Manchester City last season and suffered a record 5-0 loss against PSG recently. They also missed the Serie A title by one point to Napoli.
Inzaghi's departure occurs before Inter competes in the FIFA Club World Cup. This tournament will take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
Al-Hilal will also participate in this competition.
