Ireland's Ringrose banned for France Six Nations game

Garry Ringrose will miss Ireland’s Six Nations match against France after receiving a three-match suspension for a dangerous tackle on Wales' Ben Thomas.

Initially shown a yellow card, his penalty was upgraded to a 20-minute red card upon review.

The ban includes Leinster’s game against Cardiff but could be reduced if he completes World Rugby’s Coaching Intervention Programme, allowing him to return for Ireland’s final match against Italy on 15 March.

The disciplinary committee initially proposed a six-game ban but reduced it by 50% due to his guilty plea and clean record.

Ireland, aiming for a third consecutive Six Nations title, will host France on 8 March before concluding the tournament in Italy.
