Isaac Botsio clocks 9.94s to win NCAA DII

Ghanaian sprinter Isaac Botsio had an outstanding performance at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He won the national title in the men’s 100m, finishing with a time of 9.94 seconds. This event took place at the Pueblo ThunderBowl in Pueblo, Colorado.

Botsio's time is the second-fastest in West Texas A&M history. It marks a significant milestone in his collegiate career.

He won two national titles on that day. In addition to the 100m, Botsio anchored West Texas A&M’s 4x100m relay team to victory. He teamed up with Jace Lynch, Jerry Jakpa, and James Dadzie for this win.

The relay team posted a winning time of 39.43 seconds. This secured another national championship for the Buffaloes.

West Texas A&M finished as runners-up in the team standings for the fifth consecutive season. Botsio’s achievements highlighted a successful outing for the Buffaloes.

Fellow Ghanaians also performed well at the championships. Aziz Mohammed placed sixth in the 1,500m with a time of 3:50.93. William Amponsah won his second national title by taking first in the 5,000m with a time of 14:26.23.

With two national titles this weekend, Botsio concludes his junior year as one of Division II's standout athletes in sprinting.
