It's a 'RISKY' decision to retain Otto Addo as Black Stars coach - Osei Kweku 'Palmer'

Veteran football administrator Wilfred Osei Kweku 'Palmer' has criticized the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for retaining Otto Addo as Black Stars head coach despite the team’s failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON. Ghana finished last in Group F, failing to win a single match.

Many called for Addo’s dismissal, but the GFA chose to strengthen the technical team instead.

Palmer questioned Addo’s ability to lead Ghana to the 2026 World Cup, calling his retention "risky."

To support Addo, John Paintsil and Desmond Ofei were appointed assistant coaches, while Winfried Schaffer was named technical advisor.

Fatau Dauda remains goalkeepers’ trainer, and Kris Perquy and Gregory De Grauwe join as psychologist and video analyst. Ghana faces Chad and Madagascar in World Cup qualifiers next month.
